Data Engineering and Customer Tech Manager



Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of Data Engineers and Software Engineers

  • Design, implement and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data infrastructure.

  • Draft, develop and implement a solid roadmap of the products that constitute the customer tech stack

  • Manage relationships with contractors and technology providers for all components and systems related to data engineering and customer tech.

  • Initiate, manage and deliver projects maintaining timelines and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with Tech Leads and engineers in defining technical approaches, metrics, and timelines.

  • Work closely with business analysts across all business units and cross functional teams to better provide them with quality data streams.

  • Keep the members of the team motivated and happy, maintaining the high standard for employee happiness established by the organization.

  • Focus the team on listening and understanding business needs to propose, demonstrate, design and prototype outstanding technology solutions.

  • Establish and implement best practices for data management and governance


Requirements:


  • At least 4 years of experience in building and leading engineering teams

  • Minimum of 1.5 years of production experience in ETL Data pipeline design and implementation using Airflow (or another job management tool) and Python (or Python derivative, like PySpark)

  • Strong understanding of Data management and/or Data governance principles (ensuring data meets expected volume, schema, etc.)

  • Data Modelling: Excellent knowledge in designing and implementing data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Experience with different data modelling techniques.

  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Tools: In-depth knowledge of ETL. Understanding of data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes to ensure efficient and accurate data movement. Understanding of workflow scheduling, dependency management, and error handling.

  • Data Warehousing: Excellent knowledge with data warehousing concepts, technologies, and design principles. Familiarity with data warehousing platforms. Understanding of database management systems, indexing strategies, query optimization, and performance tuning.

  • Data Governance and Security: Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and best practices for data security. Familiarity with data encryption, access controls, and data anonymization techniques.

  • Data Quality and Testing: Understanding of data quality principles and experience in implementing data quality checks and validations. Proficiency in data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation techniques.

  • Self-motivated individual with a mindset of innovation and the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks & meet deadlines at a top-notch quality level.

  • Fluency in English.
